Five Colleges of Ohio Director of Consortial Library Systems
Columbus, OH
Ben Daigle is the Associate Director of Consortial Library Systems for the Five Colleges of Ohio, providing leadership and strategic thinking to library leaders and staff in the areas of library technology and digital scholarship. He is the Principal Investigator of an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant titled Digital Collections: From Projects to Pedagogy and Scholarship and oversees operation of the consortium's shared library management system.
A strong collaborator, Ben works to foster partnerships between library staff, technologists, and faculty, leveraging the consortial scale of the Ohio Five to participate meaningfully in strategic digital initiatives such as digital scholarship, digital preservation, and emerging library technology innovations.
Prior to joining the Five Colleges of Ohio, Ben served as the Discovery Services Librarian at Ohio Wesleyan University, a role that straddled the traditional boundaries between technical services and liaison librarianship. Prior to that, he served as an implementation manager at the global library cooperative OCLC where he worked with dozens of libraries to navigate their implementations of OCLC's WorldCat Local discovery product. Ben brings a unique perspective to the field influenced by his experiences in both the library and technology fields.
