Consortial management of Primo New UI

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The new Primo UI offers consortia an excellent opportunity to improve the development and sharing of interface customizations, by leveraging the built-in central package management. Through this functionality, consortia can develop customizations, share them centrally, and enable member libraries to selectively inherit them in their local Primo instances. Since the release of the new UI in summer 2016, the Orbis Cascade Alliance has convened successive working groups to explore this functionality and to map out how the consortia will take advantage of it to improve the Primo experience for all of its member libraries and their patrons.  This presentation will discuss the work done by these Alliance working groups, and the consortium's resulting plans for the development and sharing of Primo customizations. The presentation will cover both the workflows and goals that the Alliance is setting, as well as the mechanics for sharing and inheriting dynamic customizations.
